ABOUT PERFECTLY MADE A.F.
Perfectly Made A.F. (PMAF) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to providing scholarships for individuals seeking true freedom from alcohol.
Our Mission
Traditional free programs often focus only on behavior, relying on willpower alone to resist drinking. We are open to supporting any program(s) that successfully empowers individuals to find true freedom from alcohol. The founder, Kelly, gained this freedom via The Path, through This Naked Mind. This paid program goes beyond behavior to uncover and change limiting beliefs about alcohol through compassion, science-backed evidence, and empowerment—making true freedom not only possible but easy.
Why this matters
Millions struggle with alcohol, yet society blames the individual rather than the substance. We've been told that if quitting feels hard, we’re broken. That’s simply not true.
Personally, I know this firsthand…
My brother, Duggan, battled alcohol for over 25 years. He was told he had a disease, that he’d always struggle, and that the only solution was lifelong abstinence—while the rest of society continued drinking. He tried so hard, but in April 2023, he lost his battle.
One of my dearest college friend currently lives in a memory care facility due to alcohol induced dementia. We were shocked to find out in 2020 that alcohol had permanently damaged her brain and she was fully disabled at 40 years old. Did you picture a homeless, sad lady? NOPE. She was a college educated, highly successful, loving friend, devoted mother, and yet this was all taken away from her. I miss my dear friend.
After COVID and early motherhood, I found myself drinking too much. I feared admitting it, believing I’d be sentenced to a life of struggle. Truthfully, I had used alcohol since I was 16 years old and believed it was the ‘glue’ that kept my life together. Then I discovered This Naked Mind. It didn’t require willpower—it changed my beliefs. Suddenly, alcohol lost its appeal, and I’ve been effortlessly alcohol-free since November 2022.
Nationally…Alcohol-related harm has reached crisis levels, yet the true extent of its impact remains underestimated. Globally, alcohol accounts for approximately 3 million deaths per year (5.3% of all deaths), and in the U.S., alcohol-related deaths have nearly doubled in the past two decades—from 2.8% of total deaths in 2000 to 5.5% in 2020. In 2021 alone, over 140,000 deaths were attributed to alcohol, making it one of the leading preventable causes of death. However, these numbers likely underrepresent the full scope, as alcohol’s role in vehicular accidents, liver failure, and heart disease is frequently underreported.
Despite this public health crisis, the alcohol industry continues aggressive marketing efforts, spending over $6 billion annually in the U.S. alone. A growing share of this budget—over $1 billion per year—is directed at women, fueling the rise of "Mommy Wine Culture" and normalizing alcohol consumption as an essential part of self-care, stress relief, and socialization. These marketing tactics, which include influencer promotions, pinkwashed branding, and sponsorship of female-focused events, have contributed to an 85% increase in female alcohol consumption since the early 2000s.
Alcohol dependence creates a devastating cycle of financial instability, impacting individuals, families, and communities. Despite its widespread consequences, financial struggles related to alcohol misuse are often overlooked, leaving those affected without the necessary resources to break free from addiction and regain control of their lives.
Individuals with alcohol use disorder (AUD) are significantly more likely to experience job loss, lower wages, and financial hardship. With up to 20% of unemployed individuals in the U.S. struggling with substance use disorders, alcohol remains a major contributor to long-term financial insecurity. On average, those with severe alcohol dependence spend $300–$1,000 per month on alcohol, diverting crucial funds away from essential needs like housing, healthcare, and savings.

Core Truths
• You (or your loved one) are not broken—alcohol is an addictive drug.
• You don’t have to hit rock bottom to reevaluate your relationship with alcohol.
• Willpower is finite-it’s not a measure of effort, care, or love.
• Not drinking becomes effortless when the desire for alcohol is gone.
• True freedom from alcohol comes from a program that goes beyond behavior, integrating science, emotional growth, and mindfulness.

Founder’s Story
For years, I believed drinking was just a normal part of life—something everyone did to relax, celebrate, and unwind. It was so ingrained in our culture that I never thought to question it. But beneath the surface, I felt a growing dissonance. The more I saw, the more I realized that alcohol wasn’t just another social pastime—it was the only addictive drug where the blame was placed on the person, not the substance itself.
My big brother, Duggan, battled alcohol for over 25 years. He was told he had a disease, that he’d always struggle, and that lifelong abstinence was the only solution—while the rest of society kept drinking. He tried so hard. But in April 2023, at just 47 years old, he lost his battle. More than two decades of trying to abstain through willpower and fear weren’t enough.
In contrast, I’ve been alcohol-free since late 2022, and I feel truly alive—happy, free, and deeply grateful. I no longer think about drinking, and I owe that to a program that gave me hope, confidence, and the tools to succeed.
Like so many, I used alcohol for years, believing it was the ‘glue’ that held my life together. After COVID and early motherhood, I found myself drinking too much, yet I feared admitting it, thinking I’d be sentenced to a lifetime of struggle. Then I discovered This Naked Mind. It didn’t require willpower—it changed my beliefs. Suddenly, alcohol lost its appeal, and since November 2022, I’ve been effortlessly alcohol-free.
That realization changed everything. I knew I couldn’t stay silent. I wanted to create a space where others could safely question alcohol’s role in their lives—without judgment, stigma, or shame. That’s why I founded Perfectly Made A.F.—to expose the truth about alcohol, challenge the double standards, and empower people to break free in a way that feels right for them.
Perfectly Made A.F. exists because everyone deserves the chance to experience this same freedom—regardless of their financial situation. No one should struggle the way my brother did. No family should have to watch their loved one battle alcohol alone, relying on willpower while suffering alongside them. Unfortunately, most free programs offer little beyond abstinence. But there are powerful, affordable programs that address the emotional and psychological roots of alcohol dependence—helping people create true, lasting change. Perfectly Made A.F. exists to bridge that gap, ensuring that financial barriers never stand in the way of freedom and happiness.
True freedom isn’t about restriction. It’s about seeing things clearly and making choices that align with who you truly are.
And if you’re here, reading this, I want you to know: You’re not alone. You’re not broken. You are perfectly made—exactly as you are
Alcohol Lies. We Won’t.
A few days before my brother passed, he said he felt “hopeless” and he was “just a drunk.” That was a lie alcohol told him. The truth? He was a father, a son, a brother, a teacher, and the funniest person in the world. He believed love should never be a bad word in his classroom. He was brilliant. He was a poet.
Alcohol is an addictive drug that convinces people they are broken—when in reality, it’s alcohol that is broken. The industry profits from blame, shifting responsibility onto the user instead of the substance.
We’re here to change that. To expose the lies. To bring hope. To empower those questioning their relationship with alcohol. Because no one should lose themselves—or their loved ones—over a marketing scheme.
Our Promise
True freedom is possible. No one should be denied it because of financial barriers. We exist to provide hope, access, and empowerment for those ready to change.
💙 It’s not you—it’s alcohol.
